Exhausted? Stressed? So goes your cholesterol level
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss
A recent study concluded that performing stressful tasks could lead to an increase in cholesterol or lipid readings compared to those who handle stress well. So, if you're stressed and really weary this holiday season (as many of us are), try to find ways to, umm, not be stressed out (yes, there are ways).
The reason for the uptick in cholesterol levels in the stressed out was found to be due to stress encouraging the body to produce more energy in the form of metabolic fuels. Sounds good, yes? That also leads to an increase in LDL, the 'bad' form of cholesterol.
