All My Children soap star and Calvin Klein model Colin Egglesfield and I have been talking lots of fitness lately, so I thought I'd get his advice for stay completely gorgeous for the holidays, and making it to the new year without an ounce of regret. This is what Colin has to say:

"My tips for the holiday season revolve around the theme of "CALORIE CONTROL!" You can enjoy most of the same treats you traditionally desire if you simply use the lowest calorie ingredients available. And of course, I'm never too conscious of exact calorie amounts, that would drive anyone crazy, I just try to be sensible about what I order and try to eat small portions when possible. "

Here are a few tips that I try to heed:

1. Latte, cappuccino, and hot chocolate lovers be sure to use non-fat milk! I love cappuccinos, so when I do order one... I order it with skim milk. I try to limit my intake of coffee to only two or three a week. The rest of the time I drink herbal teas.

2. With so many holiday party's to go to, its hard to be the only one sipping on water while everyone else is dancing on the tables having a merry time. When I do want to drink ...and want to limit the amount of calories I take in ....and want to drink beer... I'll order a better tasting premium beer for my first beer. I then switch to light beer after that.. When ordering cocktails, I'll order a whiskey with diet coke, or simply a drink like scotch on the rocks. Many of my female friends will order vodka and soda water (which I believe has no calories) and add a splash of cranberry or OJ to flavor.

3. Of course if I know I'm going to be eating or drinking more than I usually do, I'll try do more cardio instead of weights. Your body will talk to you and if you listen, it will tell you what you need to do. Mine usually tells me to get my lazy butt out of bed and go take a spinning class! Spinning is great! You sweat a ton, and spinning instructors are usually entertainingly crazy.

4. With the hundreds of holiday desserts out there, its easy to gain weight just by looking at that gingerbread house. I usually only have a bite of a few things instead of having a whole piece of cake, pie or an entire cookie. It's a bit wasteful I know, to only have a bite or two.So that's why I usually try share it with someone. I find that a few bites of a few different desserts will satisfy my sweet tooth. I don't have to eat a whole portion.

5. Finally, one of the easiest ways to keep your belt from tightening is to eat all your heavy foods and deserts by 8 or 9pm. That allows your body time to digest a good portion of it, before you simply just jump into bed. The idea is to keep moving a bit. If you get hungry before bed, have some tea and maybe a bite of a cookie or a couple of bites of the left over turkey that's in the fridge instead of a whole plate.
