It seems like every person who lives to break the 100-years-old mark has their own secret to longevity. We've heard before that it could have something to do with lower cholesterol. And then there's that man aged to 111 who never drank. Who can say for sure what the secret to long life is?

Well here's another man who lived an incredibly long life and has his own hallmark for longevity: he never got married! That's what he attributes his life span to. Hryhoriy Nestor died in his sleep last Friday in the Stary Yarychev village of Ukraine. Many think he was the oldest person alive at the time, but was not able to submit proof to the Guinness Book of World Records.

So what do you think: was he on to something? Research tells us the married life does actually have health benefits. Those with spouses get sick less, have stronger immune systems, and recover faster. Mr. Nestor must have compensated with an alternatively healthy lifestyle. Of course, genes have a lot to do with it as well, and when you're old enough to live through everything he has, you must have that special genetic disposition.
