Daily Fit Tip: Give yourself a fitness test

Growing up, I always dreaded the fitness tests in school. They happened once a year and we were given badges depending on our fitness level -- bronze, silver and gold were the available badges, with those who didn't qualify for any recieving the lowly 'participation' badge. And while I was never an overweight kid, I was more bookish than fit, more at home in math class than gym class. I always scraped by with the bronze badge -- hey, I even got the silver one once -- but the prospect of proving myself physically sent shivers up my spine.
These days? Not so much. I've found my fitness groove, so to speak, and have finally discovered that fitness is a good thing, not something to dread. I'd welcome mandatory fitness tests because chances are I'm more fit than other people my age. No matter what your age, you can test your fitness online -- just check out this website.
Testing your fitness is a great way to gage where you're at compared to your peers. Don't worry about your results. It's ok if your score isn't that great -- it's what you do about it that counts. If your score is low, get moving. And be sure to test yourself again in a few months to see how far you've come. Seeing results is the ultimate motivator!
