The secret to celeb diets
Everywhere we go, we're surrounded by images of picture-perfect celebrities -- they have the looks and the bodies we want. Why? What's their secret?
This article recently looked into this idea of the 'secret' to celebrity diets. The conclusion? There is none -- celebs might have a bit of an advantage over us money-wise but when all is said and done, it really just comes down to eating well and exercising. Furthermore, this notion of the celebrity secret can be damaging to our own weight-loss efforts, because we begin to see weight loss as something that's out of our reach, when really, it isn't. It's just up to us.
I couldn't agree more -- celebrities have the advantage of personal trainers, chefs and occasional plastic surgeries, but at the end of the day, they still have to work for it, just like us. What do you think?

My first thought was, money. My second thought was, photoshop. Then, as I work with a plastic surgeon who specializes in tummy tuck in st louis, I thought, plastic surgery. Finally, I thought, time. So few of us have time anymore to truly take care of ourselves, so we end up eating in the car. Celebs have so many ways to look great. Still, as you say, it's available to each of us; we just have to work harder at it.

Well, I was just thinking today that I could really use a personal trainer to boost my level of motivation right now, but you know what? You're exactly right that having your ideal body and being fit and in shape is totally in your reach.....you just have to take action to achieve it. Now that probably will mean making some adjustments in your priorities and putting your health and fitness at the top of the pile, but it can definitely be done. ;)

Hey Martha, I've got one more thought about this.....I think it's really easy for us to fall into the trap of using the comparison with celebrities as an excuse. It's easy to say "so and so has all the advantages, no wonder they look so good", and then just give up on yourself. The thing is that you don't have to work out all day in order to look great, you just have to eat healthy, whole foods and exercise productively.
Thanks! :)
