McDonald's advertising on report cards?
The
This is what it has come to, folks -- fast food companies are so needy for profits that they are peddling their wares on school report cards. I guess the end is as hand. But hey, if you're raising your children on this stuff, more power to you.
By my two cents -- this is a disgrace. What are your thoughts? If you saw an advertisement from McDonald's on your child's report card, would this make you joyful or livid?

Uh..no, it's schools that are needy of normal funding, so they are selling out to fast food dollars. It's wrong, yes. You got a better idea? We're listening...bake sales wont do it! Maybe a car wash...I'll give you a real idea. Fund education with the money wasted on special interest spending and the military.

Yes I would be livid! I don't want to see any advertising on my child's report card, least of all the most notorious fast food company's.
Dr. J is right, I think the schools are to blame for essentially prostituting themselves this way, but at the same time, the fast food companies and the Food Industry at large knows where their bread and butter is: our nation's youth. And we all see where that trend is heading...

I agree that it is the schools that are desperate for funding. As a trainer, I spend much of my time educating adults about the 'dangers' of fast food. The rate of childhood obesity is so high and ads like this just aren't going to help. Between fast food report cards and the lack of gym class - do we really expect to see a change in society's health? A big sigh. ~amy mac http://www.WithAmyMac.com
