Metromint water recall
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss
Soma Beverage issued a recall on December 4 for their Metromint bottled water. The 16.9 ounce bottles include flavors Peppermint, Spearmint, Orangemint and Lemonmint -- with a Best Before 2008/12/21 date, produced at Soma's California facility. Products produced in California have the letters "KSA" within a rectangle printed on the lower right-hand corner of the back label.
The water may be contaminated with Bacillus cereus, which can cause a diarrheal food poisoning or a vomiting type of food poisoning. Infants, children and pregnant women are at-risk for dehydration resulting from diarrhea.
No illnesses have been reported, per Metromint. But if you chugged one and don't feel well, check out this list of symptoms provided by the Food and Drug Administration's recall press release. You'll likely be down for the count for about 24 hours. If you have any recalled product, you can get a replacement or refund here. Picture from www.metromint.com.

I got sick on Paul Newman's Sockeroonie Spaghetti sauce a few weeks ago. When I was next at my grocer's , I noticed all Sockeroonie sauce was gone. Was there a recall on this? I never did hear of one-

Chlorine- read the material safety data sheet
fluoride- calcifies the pituitary (not beneficial as claimed)
flushed prescription drugs- worst of all!

If you eat something called Sockeroonie Spaghetti Sauce, you should expect to get sick.

No, Patricia...it was made in CALIFORNIA. Hence why they're only recalling products from their California facility.

.your right! Whats the matter with tap water? We live on a small farm and drink nothing but it. So do our horses, were in our 60s and feel great! Nothing like natural, harder for anyone or terroist to mess with.

Yeah... tap water? tap water has so many different metals and additives to kill bacterias and such... however, these additives provide many different chemical pathways for reactions in the body. This isn't healthy. Also, flourine (sp?), a *major* additive in tap water, has been shown to slow down synapses in the brain. That's why many people drink bottled water. They don't deserve to be put down for it.

I live in an old house with bad plumbing. Most of the time the water is brown when it comes out of the tap. that is why I drink bottled water. People don't deserve diarreah
or to be put down because they drink bottled water.

Invest in a decent filter, like an RO one, or rainsoft

Talk about Idiots. You people ever read?
The reason whey people drink bottled water is because most tap water is polluted. Think about where it comes from. The rivers and streams are polluted and the soil is contaminated with pesticides and chemicals. And the only thing a tap pruifier does is eliminate the lead and chlorine. Hence the bottled water...helloooooo

Actually trixie, if you read some of box sides of the faucet mount filters they filter out a lot more than just lead and chlorine (many of them even get bacteria and mercury, etc) Unfortunately they leave in fluoride which is just as bad as chlorine and lead.
And if you get something like rainsoft or an RO filter (reverse osmosis) which is expensive at FIRST, it's tons better. Your water will actually be PURE. It would remove even the pharmaceutical residues (to a certain point).

Chlorine is what's wrong with tap water if you are on municipal water. If you have your own well and it' s not contaminated by some local industrial or commercial (or your own chemical waste) run-off it can either be as sweet as spring or taste of iron or sulfur.

Trixie, I see you've read all of the propaganda that the bottled water companies have put out. Good for you! Guess where most of the bottled water comes from? Just guess... sorry dear, it comes from the same underground springs that feed your rivers and streams. There is a bottled water company just outside of Grand Rapids Michigan that simply takes water from an underground spring and bottles it. Guess what lives above those underground springs - cows and corn fields! Enjoy!

What a waste of time, money and resources this bottled water is! If all those swell people that think they are too good to drink from the tap are listening, I say hope you read this article and stop buying this crap. The stuff is all tap water anyway, but in the bottling process things can happen that create this kind of danger. Get over yourselves, throw some ice cubes in a glass and turn on the tap. Or drink this stuff and there will be more water for the rest of us, after you pass away from the bacteria.

Lets do the math. Tap water plus Pur equals good water.
