Holiday food can be tasty and healthy too

Although lean turkey is really not that bad for us, eating all the condiments on Thanksgiving Day can sure rack up the calories, fat and other nastiness that makes many of us gain all that extra weight.

Ever thought of trying to have a Thanksgiving that's full of healthy foods? Tradition speaks of mashed potatoes and pecan pie, but it doesn't call for multiple helpings of all that and more.

If you're going to eat all those extra helpings, wouldn't it be nice to have some nutrients as well? How about pumpkin-orange cake? Sweet potatoes and cranberries are packed with nutrition as well, so at least you can balance good taste with good nutrition, right? If you load up on second helpings, make sure they are the best ones for your health.
