Smaller plates = smaller jeans

A quick trick to get past party season without packing on pounds is to place your meals on smaller plates. Duh? Sounds simple, but it really will help you cut back on calories. Psychologically, folks tend to want to fill up their plates. A full dessert plate probably only holds half of the calories as a dinner plate. Even if you're choosing the unhealthy options, a smaller plate simply holds less.
The only restraint you'll have to use with this method is not going back for seconds. There are very few perfect answers that work for everyone across the board. But, if you're dedicated to maintaining or improving your fitness level throughout the holidays........a few good rule of thumb type tricks will certainly help you along! Remember. You are in charge of you! You can do this!

Work out six days a week, regardless of ANYthing! Make sure to do extra cardio to work off those extra calories.

I can't live without peanut butter but its sooooo fattening so I buy reduced fat and then mix it in small batches with carrot puree. You can't even taste the carrots, I promise. On top of cutting the fat and calories in half, you also get a ton of nutrients.
To get kids to eat it I would add a little bit of chocolate syrup because it comes out pretty orange otherwise. Its a great way to sneak veggies in their food!

Also drink water while you are eating as it fills you up. I would also make sure your plate is visually pleasing as when I feel like I am being deprived I pig out.
I was an obese teen and heavy in my twenties. I have changed my life through Weight Watchers (no other organized prorm worked for me) and making small changes in my day to day that I can keep up with. I swear by drinking plenty of water, avoiding carb laden meals in the evening and trying to get exercise whenever I can. I also try to wear a pedometer to keep track of miles and try to do 10,000 steps every day. I also eat a small axlerod or dannon fat free yogurt every day and call it dessert!
