Daily Fit Tip: Be thankful

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Americans out there. Thanksgiving is one of my favourite holidays -- the combination of family and good food without the worry of having to buy presents makes it one of those perfect days. And usually, we tell you to watch what you eat, but you know what? Thanksgiving only comes once a year, and if having a extra helping of stuffing makes you feel good, I say go for it.
But in all the hustle and bustle of the day, make sure you take some time to acknowledge what the day is all about: Being thankful. Take a few moments to write down all the things you're thankful for, from the major to the simple. And turn your thankfulness into action -- if you're thankful that your wife took out the garbage, tell her so. If you're thankful for your health, do something nice for your body by going for a walk. If you're thankful for your family, let them know it by spending some real, quality time with them, without your blackberry or laptop or the TV blaring in the background.
Every one of us has something to be thankful for. Let's remember that, if only for today.
