Arizona issues warning about poker chips
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss
If it's not children's toys or other personal products with some kind of exterior paint, it's...wait for it...in the gambling hall. That's right -- some poker ships are now being recalled due to possible lead poisoning. These high-end poker chips are made by Paulson and are used in many casinos and sold at retail to gamblers.
The problem arises when retail customers take these chips home and then the kids get exposure to them by whatever means. If poker chips can come to have higher-than-normal lead levels, then I guess every product has the possibility. At least, it is seeming this way.

Some parts of this article are flat out WRONG. First, the chips in the photo are plastic "dice" chips, that 99% of folks have...and are NOT the ones that have lead. It is irresponsible to scare those that may have these plastic chips into thinking they have a hazard in their home.
Second, according to the article in your link, no chips have been recalled, and certainly not from "possible lead poisoning". Did you even READ the article you reference?
Lastly, lead IS a danger, especially to children. However, if you bring home casino chips and let your kids play with them, you probably have far more problems than lead to worry about.
