The 88 most unhealthy food items
Categories: Nutrition & Supplements
I'm sure we're all aware that trans fats are one of the most unhealthy things we can possibly put into our bodies. And you probably know that many fast food items have trans fats, but do you know which specific ones are the worst? A calorie counter put together a list of the worst offenders -- AKA, the items you should never order. Here are some of the most dangerous:- White Castle Homestyle Onion Rings -- 30 g of trans fat!
- White Castle Fish Nibblers -- 16 g
- KFC Chicken Pot Pie -- 14 g
- Large Burger King Hashbrown -- 13 g
- White Castle Chicken Rings -- 13 g
- Jack in the Box Fish N Chips -- 12 g
- Jack in the Box Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges -- 12 g
- White Castle Clam Strips -- 12 g
- Dairy Queen Chicken Strip Basket -- 12 g
- White Castle French Fries -- 11 g
Wow, White Castle isn't doing so well healthwise -- don't you agree? Remember, the recommended daily intake for trans fat is 0!

such a shame that White Castle has so much trans fat. Although I am not surprised....no wonder why those little burgers, chicken sandwiches and sides are so good! Luckily I have no touched the stuff in years.

Yada, yada, yada. Everything is bad for you these days. Food manufacturers should be held to higher standards. Frankly, I'm sick of hearing about facilities with contamination problems, all the bad foods for you... no wonder this world is in the condition it is.

Wrong! Not everything is bad for you. If you make informed decisions about food, you can have a great meal that's also healthful. I haven't been in a fast food restaurant in perhaps thirty years, and I'm having a ball.

"yada, yada, yada" is an overused, dumb cliche'
it is completely overdone, as is "absolutely!".."Bottom Line, " on and on. Just stop saying these stupid cliche' terms... we are SO over them....get creative, for the love of God....Loi

I'd like to see where they got the information for this list. KFC recently removed transfat from all its menu offerings along with it's other sister companies as part of YUM! brands and yet there are many KFC items on this list. That doesn't really make sense to me. http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/04/30/yum-brands-gets-the-trans-fat-out/

I hate AOL for many reasons.
In this case, the headline is "88 food items to avoid." Had they said it was an article on fast food with trans fats, I wouldn't have looked at it. In any event, there are not 88 food items of any sort here.

"Fast" and "Food" should never be used in the same sentance. Together, they are an oxymoron. But most regretfully, those who even view these items as "food" are brainwashed by advertising and severly limited in their knowledge / scope of health and nutrition.
For heaven's sake, at lease one can stir-fry broccolli and garlic and serve that over rice with soy sauce as a tastey starter item you can cook yourself! Next add Chicken to the mox and enjoy! Watch a food channel or other cooking show or three instead of MTV! Learn how to cook and eat well!

Jeff, you have got to be kidding! You said that just to stir up a response, like poking a hornet's nest. Or else...I hate to think of the other possibility.

Well, I see denseness is running rampant on this board. They DID list the 88 items! Anyone with common sense knows enough to click on the green highlighted words that say "A calorie counter put together a list of the worst offenders." I am just sitting here shaking my head that some of you silly posters could not figure that out.
