Getting motivated for an early morning workout

Posted on Oct 26th 2007 1:30PM by Bethany Sanders
Early this week, I sat down and took a hard look at our family's schedule. It seemed like too many days a week we were far too busy, and we needed to take it down a notch. A new routine, thankfully, returned us to our the slower pace we prefer, but by day two I'd realized I'd left out something very important -- my time to exercise. Things are running so smoothly, however, that I don't want to change things, so my plan is to tack it on the only place I can: early mornings.

I'm no morning person. I'll admit to sleeping in until one or the other of my kids wakes me up (which is already pretty early). Exercising in the morning means I have to dust off my alarm clock and set it for an hour that no person should voluntarily be awake, but at least a few days a week, I'm going to try. Check out how daylight savings can trigger morning workouts.
