Anna Rexia costume: Funny or not?
Halloween is back -- that time of year when people have a built-in excuse to wear ridiculous outfits that they would never get away with any other time of the year. But here's a novel costume idea that I saw on Back in the Skinny Jeans: Anna Rexia -- a sexy skeleton costume that comes complete with a measuring tape for a belt. To see pictures of the costume, click here. Ironically, it's available in regular and plus sizes.
I think this costume idea is pretty appalling -- anorexia is not a joke, and it's not sexy. But people with a darker sense of humor might find it amusing ... do you?

Holloween in a horrible tradition, It seems that many crimes take place during this time. It is no longer a time of amusement for children. I don't think it should be permitted in schools and no time for trick or treating should be allowed. It s a night for an excuse for vandalism. Frankly if i ever caught anyone including children doing vandalism i would not hesitate to have them arrested and sueing the parents for damages.

I don't think that was the question but gee, thanks for your imput. Halloween is what your town makes it to be, and if they allow trick or treating within the school, then by golly you know your kid isn't getting the apple with the razor in it....
And yes, the costume is kinda horrible but at the same time, it makes you realize anorexia isn't a whispered word anymore, that it's getting out into the open and more girls are getting help...it also makes fun of the certain fashion designers who refuse to comply with the new rules.

All I can say to Gracefe is :-P~~~~~~~~~~~! You are as bad as Ebeneezer Scrooge only you have taken offense to my favorite holiday. Ban Halloween :-P~~~~~~.
And to bring up suing people, that goes right to the cancerous tumor eating away at the Constitution every day. Your sense of entitlement to MONEY for every percieved injustice is so far removed from what America WAS all about before we let greed ruin everything.
Personally I hope on Nov 1 you wake up to find your house covered in rotten eggs and toilet paper.

Personally I donot see that the model has anorexia-and yes there are sick people out there that will take advantage of any situation even halloween ,which incidently IS FOR KIDS! Now this Gracefe is another moron that wants our government to take another right away from us all as I said there are many sick people out there and dear Grace be one of them. If in fact our laws would punish the bad guys for messing with our children it would stop. Jim

Forget the costume, the model takes your complete attention away from it!!! As far as the idea of the costume, I think it is horrendous because anorexia is no laughing or joking matter. On the other hand skeleton costumes and decor for halloween has been around from the beginning.

Well, I think that costume is gross, anorexia is not something to make fun of. Frankly I find it nauseating for sex to be used for attention every waking moment, the revealing bustline, the short skirts, ours has become a "use sex to sell everything nation.?" That is disgraceful.
Anorexia, again, is no joke, it's a killer. It is distasteful to wear a costume to flaunt this as well.
As far as Halloween being a terrible tradition, Crime happens all the time. The activities engaged in such as trick or treating may have to be altered a bit due to the minority of people who have ruined it for the innocent, but do away with it in schools? Give me a break! The minorities have already stripped the schools of the Pledge of Allegiance, Christmas decorations and Christmas carols, are demanding "In God we Trust" to be removed from our currency - My opinion is that if you strip the citizens of the United States of its traditions, particularly children, we will be a bland, meaningless country to live in. If you don't want your kids to engage in holidays, send them to nonpublic schools or home school your kids. If there is crime in your area on Halloweeen become involved in a Neighborhood Watch group or have your local police add additional officers on duty that night. Have a get together at your home to celebrate - Pretty soon our children will have nothing to celebrate if all this politically correct crap continues. Let's do away with New Year's Eve is you want to eradicate some crime, keep all the drunks off the road. I will grant you that holidays have become a bonanza for the capitalistic manufacturers. Before Halloween even comes, there are Christmas goods on the shelves. That's a disgrace, but unfortunately unstoppable.
Ok, so the outfit is disgraceful. I have seen a worse one, however. A young woman in her twenties once came to a Halloween dance dressed as a soiled tampon. That was disgusting. The one shown here is just disgraceful. Do away with Halloween? Not in my world. I don't stop engaging in life long traditions for anyone. My kids have enjoyed Halloween in many ways. Pumpkin carving, parties, safe Trick or Treating, creating decorations and treats for get togethers, decorating our home. Give in to the hoolums who ruin it for others? Not a chance! Our kids have been stripped of enough of their childhoods. Halloween is a go - disgraceful outfits should be left on the shelves of the store.

I thought it was kinda of funny personally, not the cosutme but how they broke the name anorexia apart into anna rexia. Needless to say the model isn't anorexic, far from it ! Now if a plus sized model was wearing it, everyone would have somethink else to say on these posts

I think the most offensive Halloween costume thus far is the child wearing the Abu Ghraib "littlest prisoner" oufit.
Image google to see it.

I though this was horrible. I faught this disease for many years and to make fun of it is down right wrong. It is a complete blessing, and only by God's mercy that i am free from it. To do this to people that still fight this disease is disgusting. Not only is it mean but how much more are you hurting them in there fight for life. Shame on you whom support this horrible form of disgrace.

I think the costume is offensive but so it the redneck costume i saw in the mall the other day....it was a guy with a sheep attached to his crotch....funny but offensive. It also may not be a disease but it's still a costume that people where and someone will complain about that too. People to need to just relax and laugh. It's supposed to be fun. It's one day where you can be totally stupid so just let it go.

Lord, yes, anorexia is an awful disease, but let's not get carried away with political correctness. I've seen lots of costumes at Halloween that would be awful IF they actually existed! There's not enough fun in this life as it is; I'm with Jorq and Allisson. Keep Halloween and stop wasting your time trying to make people have good taste!

As someone who has defended this country for 20+ years all I can say is if people spent as much time worrying about themselves as much as what everyone else is doing there would be no problems in this country. Get a life. The more you complain the more legitimacy you give the issue.

Several years ago, when Teddy Kennedy was running for some office, I went to a Halloween party dressed as Mary Jo Kopeckne. Was that wrong?

The costume is in very bad taste. How about costume of cancer/baldheaded patient or sad AIDS patient with bumps. Or someone walking around with oxygen tank as an emphysema patient, Noooo not funny

personally, i don't think everyone will get what the costume means unless they know the name of it...it just looks like a skeleton at first glance...also, gracefe needs to get a life...and if you're going to dis something, at least spell it right...it's halloween...not holloween...and kids love halloween and still have fun with it...as do a lot of adults...it's a fun holiday to get a little goofy...and as for vandals? they're going to vandalize whether it's halloween or friday!! they don't need an excuse such as halloween to do it...
