This girl in China swam for 3 hours with bound hands and feet
Categories: Nutrition & Supplements
Remember how I told you about the young girl who ran 40 miles a day, and how there was an outcry that this was a form of child abuse? Well, here's a story that's even more shocking -- A 10-year-old girl in China had her hands and feet bound by her father and had to spend 3 hours swimming across the Xiang River. Wow -- that seems like something you might do if you were a hitman; not a father.
But the father insists that she wanted to do it as a challenge. See, she's got a goal to swim the English channel and thought this would be a good way to challenge her already-perfect swimming skills. Still, would you ever bind your child's feet and throw them in the water? I hope not. There's a point where a parents' competitiveness gets out of hand, and I think that point is long past for this family.
What do you think?

I think this was not a smart move on the father's part. If the child wanted to do it, then that's one thing...but following through with it is something entirely different. I would be interested in knowing if there were any lifeguard boats available (or something of that nature) incase the girl tired out before being pulled aboard. I know the asian community has a "drive" for over succeeding (I know because my father is Japanese), but this just goes way too far in my opinon.

did you even read the story before you made those dumb ass comments? it was the GIRLS idea after seeing something on TV & judging by the pictures...the father was WITH her during the swim in case things went wrong...just because it's not done in AmeriKKKa doesnt make it wrong.
Youll never achieve great things without taking great risks...wake up...
