Which oil is best for split ends?
Categories: Alternative & Green Health
Do you wish there were a miracle cure for split ends, besides cutting them off? Yeah, me too. There's a rumor out there that mineral oil (also called Jasmine Hair Oil, baby oil or paraffinum liquidm) can help rid you of split ends. But is it true? Is it really that easy?
My favourite beauty experts, the Beauty Brains, have weighed in on using mineral oil for your hair. Their verdict? While there's nothing wrong with using mineral oil on your hair, you'll probably see more benefits from using Coconut Oil, which can actually penetrate the cortex of the hair.
Or, if using oil on your hair doesn't sound too appealing, try some of these great tips.

Just to clarify: The Jasmine oil mentioned in our post was a mixture of mineral oil and perfume. The Jasmine name comes from scent, it's not a synonym for mineral oil.
Thanks for all the great posts. I can't believe you've done almost 200 articles in the last month!

Mineral oil should not be used on the hair or scalp or skin for that matter. It is a clogging oil and clogs pores and follicles. The absolute best oils for the hair and scalp are jojoba and emu oil. If you do not want to use an animal oil then avocado and hemp are also good. These oils have high levels of omegas which every cell in the body , especially skin and hair cells must have to reproduce correctly.
