Weight loss is a game with NEAT-o
Categories: Reviews & Products
Although video games are generally not well-regarded when it comes to healthy living -- they're said to cause obesity among other things -- but lately it seems as though more and more healthy ones are starting pop up. Like this one: NEAT-o is a game that you can play with your hand-held PDA, and it encourages you to make small, healthy changes to your life. Using a light senor, the game detects activity, and the more you move in real life, the more your avatar moves in the game. It detects movements as small as foot-tapping and and challenging as running. And you can connect to you friends for an added challenge.
NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis, and it seems to work, at least for one tester who lost 40 lbs in 5 months!
What do you think -- would you buy this game to kick-start your healthy habits?
