Is Keira Knightley One of the Largest Actresses Out There?
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment
Here's a scary thought -- what if super-skinny Keira Knightley was one of the heftiest celebrities out there? Well, she is if you ask her. Knightley has been quoted as saying she's 'twice the size' of most actresses. To be fair, she is quite tall, but she claims her statement is due to "height and everything else." All I can say is, yikes. If she's large, what does that make us normal people?Knightley goes on to say, "When you realise that I am, at my size, one of the largest actresses there, you start to think, 'I don't think it'd be healthy for me to stay here much longer.'"
While I don't under any circumstances think that she is one of the biggest actresses out there, at least she realizes that working in an industry that would lead her to believe that her petite frame is large is unhealthy.

I am really tired of hearing Keira Knightley talk about people that are talking about her weight. She needs to stop commenting on it, and refocus the media attention on her movies or something.

Kiera is absolutely stunning, a beautiful face; thin is healthy.

She probably gets asked in every interview about her weight, so that's why she's always quoted as commenting on it. But I'm a bit confused, why does she think she's one the largest actresses? Who's smaller than her? I'm thinking she might have been told by producers to lose weight for a role.

Keira is absolutely stunning, a gorgeous face; thin is healthy. Those who criticize her only wish they looked like her and are probably overweight/obese. Get away from the table!

Ms. Knightley has an eating disorder. That's incredibly obvious. She has a warped sense of reality that goes along with Anorexia Nervosa. Rather than criticizing her, encourage her to get the help she so desperately needs. She is a VERY poor example to the young ladies of the world who are dealing with body image. Lady, get into rehab now while you are still among the living!

She's darling and I agree with the other comment from Jane Smith---most people that are saying she has a problem-have a problem themselves-I never understood why it's okay to treat skinny people like they're freaks and say things to them-but we can't to that to fat people!!!!??? Why is that!!!?

Look, there are people who are tall. Taller people have much higher metabolisms then smaller people. Taller people are naturally thinner then shorter people.
That's not to say all short people are fat, because I'm short, and quite skinny actually, but it's easier to gain weight.
Bottom line is that Kiera Knightley is fine. She's normal. She probably weighs about 110-130 pounds. That's normal for her height, and she is very skinny.
The really fat people are the only ones who have a problem.

Wow Jane Smith, so I guess anorexics are the healthiest people out there. No one here is criticizing Keira, she's criticizing her own weight. And as much as I adore her, Keira does not look healthy. She has bones protruding from every area of her body. She's literally skin and bones and it scares me that she thinks she's heavy. And just to clarify your misinformation, thin isn't necessarily healthy if you're too thin. There is a range of body types that can be classfied as healthy, and there are other aspects of health than just someone's weight. Someone can actually be slightly overweight but lead a very healthy lifestyle. Oprah may not be thin, but I'm sure one of the richest women on the planet is not being lied to by her doctors.

I don't think anything is wrong with her. In this article I believe her words were either twisted or she was being sarcastic. You can be skinny and be healthy and you can be fat and be healthy. Yeah, fat does look better over even remotely thin any day in my opinion, but it doesn't mean I'm gonna bad mouth her and say she's anorexic.

For the people who says that she's healthy looking, I'm sorry but you have a warped sense of body image. She is a pretty girl, but she's clearly suffering from an eating disorder.

I suspect that Keira Knightly was being sarcastic when she said she was large. She has said that she admired an obese female singer/actress and had said that she thought that woman was sexy. (I cannot remember the name of the obese singer/actress that Keira was talking about. If I remember the name I'll be back.)

The singer Ms. Knightley admired was Beth Ditto of The Gossip.
In any case, while agree that there is too fat and too thin, and that people should strive for the healthy balance in between, some of you on this board have some seriously disturbing attitudes towards weight and health. To say that obese people aren't shunned, ridiculed or talked badly about is ridiculous. Look at movies such as Shallow Hal, The Nutty Professor, The Klumps, Big Momma's House, heck, even the Goonies, to see how overweight/obese people are shunned in society. Read your own comments to see how that attitude is reflected. Too thin is just as unhealthy (if not more so) than overweight, so get over your body fascism and encourage a *healthy* lifestyle, including mind, body and spirit.

Keira-You have absolutely no idea what the word 'largest' means. If you even remotely think this term applies to you then you need eyeglasses and maybe a visit to the shrink.

Thin is NOT necessarily healthy. Naturally thin people
think it's okay to eat crappy food just because they
don't gain weight from it. It can still ruin their bodies
from the inside out.
I am overweight, but I eat healthy - lots of fresh fruits
and veggies, organic whenever possible, low-fat dairy,
little meat, whole grains and legumes and an incredible
meal replacement product that my company markets
made with rice bran that contains over 120 antioxidants,
protein, vitamins and 800mg plant sterols. I walk and
use my rebounder 5xweek. Which of us is healthier?

Thanks smarteepantz for the name of the singer that Keira Knightly said she admired and whom she thought was sexy.
I remember her also saying that she would like to gain weight. Maybe she said she was large when she should have said that she was tall. Keira Knightly is taller than most English actresses.
