Under-5 ban in Utah swimming pools extended

In Utah, there have been more than 1,300 illnesses tied to the invasion of cryptosporidium parasites, and in a precautionary measure, the state is banning kids under age five (or anyone in diapers) from public parks, schools, amusement parks and more in Salt Lake City.

The parasites generally spread through human contact with human feces, which is common in areas where toddlers tend to be changed. When crypto cases surge from 30 per year to over 1,300, there is not a lot of hygiene happening, apparently.

But, not all counties in the state are adopting the suggestions for banning kids at this time. If these cases continue to soar, though, I can see this happening pretty quick.
