Britney blows it at the VMAs

Ahhhh. What a bummer. This is no celeb blog, of course. But after I tucked my kiddies into bed tonight, I was looking forward to sitting down and watching some sort of blow me away performance from what used to be the Princess of Pop. She was the 'big deal' opening act for the MTV Video Music Awards. Britney Spears was a big disappointment. She turned out to be the Princess of Plain tonight.

Obviously the girl is no Celine Dion. Never has been, never will be. But! I can admit to thinking she's been a bit entertaining (in a good way) in the past. Decent voice, great dancer, AMAZING physique. Curvy, strong, slim, but not too skinny.

Tonight.....her lip syncing was off, her dancing was dull, she looked bored and her body just didn't impress as it used to. She's got two beautiful little boys, and that certainly takes it's toll. I suppose I just expect more from this chic famous for her abs. I'd love to get my hands on her; put her through a bit of Fitzness training. Maybe before next year's VMAs she'll give me a call.

Always hoping the best for people, I do hope she can get her act together. Not cause my life revolves around her or any other celebrity. I'd just like to be entertained again. Britney used to put on a good show. Do you think she'll ever make a decent comeback?

It's a little early to be calling it a "comeback performance." Time will only tell on whether that turns out the be the case. In the meantime, Britnye's lip-syncing and dancing sucked. Sarah Silverman was a disgrace to herself and women everywhere. Seriously, can you imagine being a parent watching the show with your children in the room as Silverman --within the first 10 minutes!!-- talked about vaginas and diarrhea? The whole VMAs were a joke and just go to show how irrelevant MTV has become. Their "awards" are elitist and are bought and paid for by the record labels. Both the network and the labels are watching their business model collapse and consumers turn to the Internet for music and video, bypassing MTV and the Jevvs in Hollywood completely. In 10 years, MTV won't exist, and we'll only look back and laugh at what a joke the network became in its final years. Good luck in November, Britney...

It really was a disgrace-- I was embarrassed just watching! It almost seemed as if she was on something... Get ahold of her Fitz-- show Ms. Spears how it's done!

It was such a boring performance. I was expecting something exciting. I agree with you Jessica, she probably WAS on something. LOL

You know what? I live in LA... I work (freelance) in the beauty business (right now with a dermatologist in La Jolla who treats a lot of people with Botox in San Diego... and I live in the capital for plastic surgery (I've worked with a lot of PS, as well). Here's my thing with Brit. You referred to her as the "chick famous for her abs." She's famous for a lot more (bad dancing, bad songs, bad singing, bad haircuts, bad relationships... bad choices), but if you're making $700k a month - or whatever - and that income is built upon looking great, then it's your job to look, at least, good. We know she'll lip sync, and we know she'll do it poorly. We know she'll have a new song, and we know it will be forgettable. Yes, she's had a couple of kids (so have a lot of Hollywood's leading ladies and songstresses ?); Brit didn't have to wear that outfit; she choose to. I guess what I'm saying is, all Brit has ever had is "a look." Now, she's obviously putting little effort into even maintaining that. Personally, I think everyone ought to be happy with who they are; and if they aren't, then see someone who can help. But, when you've built a "career" based on selling sex, then don't expect us to buy it when you come out half-dressed, half out of it, and completely not giving a...

I was never a Britney fan, until she started making some bad choices and getting blasted for it by everyone. I can relate.
At the VMA's, I thougt she looked unhappy for some reason and wasn't giving it her all. Her body, however, is still fantastic. She looks womanly.
I also like the song, it's catchy. Her CD will be great, I'm sure.
