Let's change the way we think about aging
Posted on Sep 6th 2007 1:28PM by Martha EdwardsGetting regular exercise and eating well won't stop the aging process, but these two important steps can slow it down -- by a lot. Don''t you think?
Interesting article and I totally agree--especially since he was talking about people in their 40's who were complaining about how out of shape they were and saying it was inevitable.
Um, no, actually, it doesn't have to be true at all! Unless you were an Olympian or something in your twenties, you can be in the same or better shape in your forties than you were in your 20's if you work at it!
Now I'm not convinced there aren't some declines by your 60+ years, but they don't have to be nearly as dramatic as people expect. I'm one of those folks who doesn't love working out, but I've kept it up well into my forties. I'm in as good a shape as I've ever been. Not that I don't constantly complain about having to work out!
