Renee Zellweger: Better as Bridget?
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment
The Skinny Website recently published some photos of Renee Zellweger alongside the words 'skeleton', and I have to admit, despite the baggy dress she's wearing, she does look quite skinny. But if you comb the archives for pictures of her a few years ago, around the time when Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason was coming out, she looked quite healthy -- not obese or overweight, mind you. What do you think? Do you prefer a bony Renee, or did you fancy her with a little bit of extra padding? I'm a fan of Bridget Renee, quite frankly, but maybe that's because the character seems more vibrant and fun than the actress -- according to her pictures, at least.

There is no pleaseing you rag writers. There is only to skinny and to fat.You people have ruined more peoples lives with your stupid remarks about someones body.I wish you would all just get a real job,so we don't have to listen to your nagging about weight.

I completely agreed with Jeffrey. Then I clicked on the link and saw the picture it was referring toward. I would hope she would have a friend or family member that cared enough about her to help her see she did go too far and needs some weight put on. And this is a comment from a person who has struggled with managing anorexia/bulimia for thirty years. I am not saying she has an eating disorder. Just that her image perception may be a little off.

I wonder if she has lost any fat in those funny looking cheeks of hers. I think she is goofy looking.

Personally, I think that she is beautiful either way. He extreme weight gain and loss for B. Jones is unhealthy but she look great thin or with a few extra jiggles. As far as that "skeleton" pic, can we say photoshop? Jeez! people, when she is bigger you say she is fat and when she is thinner, she is a skeleton. I am so happy that I am not a celebrity. Eat a piece of cake and the photogs catch you and analyze every bit of fat on your body. Be seen drinking bottled water and you are either getting ready for rehab or you have a eating disorder.

I have never understood what the fuss is about this funny looking little woman. She looks like a pocket gofer with those poofy cheeks.

Leave the actor's and actress' weight alone. They are who they are no matter what you say about them.

I prefer trim women but there's a difference between trim and sickly. Losing weight is good but it's more important to be toned/healthy.

What happened to all of those nicely voluptuous actresses of old? Why has the Monroe body type become so unpopular?
I think the Bridget look was the best... she looked curvy and healthy. I don't think the flucuating weight is good for her... or any other actor/actress that does it (even for movie roles).
That said, I don't think we should assume that all skinny people are UNhealthy. I'm 5'8" and 123 lbs. I've been at this weight since highschool... even after two kids! I'm tired of hearing how skinny, sick, or anorexic I look. And I'm NOT! I remember being so excited to tell my mom that I gained three pounds after milkshakes and candy bars for two weeks. I felt horrible, but I had gained weight. Now that I'm all grown up, lol, I have a healthy diet and just live with the "skinny-ness." I live with it, but I'm still very self-concious (yep, even the skinny ones have issues, lol).
Because of my experience with my mother, I make an extra effort to encourage good self-esteem and body image in my own two girls. As long as my girls are eating well and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, they are going to be beautiful no matter how much they weigh!

Renee had to gain weight to play Bridget. On a talk show she said it was kind of fun, in a way, to eat anything she wanted, but that she didn't feel good with the extra weight ... so whether in your opinion you think she looks good or not, she apparently is happy and feels good at her 'normal' weight.
