Used chopsticks latest mess in Chinese food scare

Will this Chinese recall situation ever end? Well, not today. In the latest edition, a factory in the Chinese capital of Beijing apparently recycled used chopsticks -- to the tune of 100,000 pairs per day -- without properly disinfecting them. Nice, huh?

It's hard to say how used chopsticks were not immediately outed as being used (unless the initial owners left no teeth marks), but in an age of recalls that included pet food, medicine, tires, toothpaste and toys, I guess eating utensils was just the next step.

China's immense growth apparently has led to a complete oversight of inspections for goods as the company marches toward becoming the second-largest exporter in the world behind the U.S.

The USA has agencies that deal with Quality Control much better than most countries, specifically China. They have caused the Deaths of People, Dogs/Cats,as well as various Illnesses(Lead Toxicity) related to product
contamination in Food, Toothpaste, Toys, Pet Food, Wheat products, Shrimp and more.
It appears China is not a safe Country to receive exports from. We here in the USA should begin to manufacture our own products as we had done in the past.
The Global Economy is not safe and only benefits those who want a higher profit w/o being responsible for good health and safety.

I feel the this country should stop dealings , with china,It is constantly having one problem afther another.It's apparent the do not care about there products and there exports!What does it take to realize they just don't give a dam and our familys suffer from what ever problems that accurs.It seems profits mean more,and not our lives and health.what about the next dangerous problem.Will it kill you , your'e children,grandparents,pets are just make them wish they would.We need to manufacture our goods in our country and then we can inspect products here and have no one to blame for reoccuring problems but our USDA and this countries inspectors.It will also opens more jobs in this country and help many familys get off unemployment .Question is why do we keep dealing with china or any country that that don't give a dam about there products and they know it? What is going to take for this country to realize this??should hundreds or thousand people die because of these problems ?Whats going to happen next time?what excuses will be made??Who will take the blame this time?Who's fault???

CHina hates the USA... do you think they really care if millions of americans die? Wake up USA. What actions or penaltys are being taken against China? They OWN us... Get used to these type of stories.

The China mess is just another way to enrich the pockets of tyrants. Globel Economy is really buying piece. The real issue is..................is it worth the lives of Americans? Just like the People in the armed Services,we're paying the ultimate price for our elected officials to play politics. Lets close our borders and let em kill each other and let us alone.

BUY AMERICAN !!!! Save a job! China has been doing this for years, along with anyone else who wishes to profit from dead Americans. Don't companies know that of course regulations are lacking in other countries. That's why it's cheaper. The politicians are in on it, too. Both REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS! Vote them out of office! Remember it's WE THE PEOPLE, not the 'PEOPLES REPUBLIC'!

We as a nation supports china by buying china products because they are cheaper. American made products costs 2 and 3 times at much. It is not that some of us don't want to buy U.S. products but if we don't do better with the pricing we will always be at the mercy of China, etc.

This seems like a silent war to me. China killing our pets, children and us off slowly and the goverment here doesn't stop it. The very least they could do is label everything that is from China so that we can choose the right to live and not purchase from them. As it is, they are leaving us in the dark from China to keep picking us off. Sorry, but i no longer trust China.

this is what I think, just like was said before, China is not our ally. Has anyone, I mean anyone thought about this as terrorism? WOW!! I sure have. I think China is trying to kill us off and they may be well on there way. You can't buy anything in the US without China somehow being involved. Lets stop funding China and start giving jobs to the people HERE in America. There's a thought!!!!

All I gotta say is that this is freaking me out badly!!!
If U.S. things cost up to 3 times as much and I am standing in a store comparing something from U.S. and something freom China and its something I really need at the moment, but I am almost broke, what do I do? I am divorced and as i write I am 65 bucks in the hole at the bank. I have to buy the less expensive item. If its clothes, then ok, I dont plan to put lead in the clothes, eat my clothes or let the kids play in the clothes, but if it's a toy, I pass it up of course. If its the wood toys, no way, I still cant afford those anymore. i am stuck on what to do if its medicine or something! SHIT! What the hell are we supposed to do??
Yeah we can start making more of our own products, it may create even more jobs!!!! Thats a wonderful idea!!!
I always thaught China hated us, but ya know what? We still go there for vacation, and even move there! And while we tour, we spend spend spend!!!
Too bad everyone couldnt just take a happy pill and everyone could play nice with each other...

It's not just China that is screwing us over, it's other countries as well. We need to look at everything that comes to this country, people and merchandie.

Honestly, who doesn't realize that China is as amoral and greedy as the major US companies doing business with them? They care about the health and safety of US citizens (and pets) about as much as our own politicians (both parties) -- not at all.

This latest incident with the chopsticks shows that no one who has the power in our country is going to rock the boat with China but will instead put another spin on it and hope that the news agencies will go along with it. Instead, we will continue to import dangerous, inferior and disgusting junk from a China.

We should stop imports from them -- we should stop outsourcing jobs and re-institute jobs in the US and buy US made products. What a thought, if we put an viable infrastructure back in place, maybe Americans can afford to re-discover a moderate standard of living!

Our corrupt politicians who make sure they receive HUGE paychecks should be looking out for American interests. But, greed rules the day.

We can't even be sure that the product that has a label of Turkey or wherever slapped on it is genuine - since the Chinese put on what they want.

Even if China owns us, who cares? No one paid the US back in WWII for the world debt. Why can't the US explain that, after having funded multiple countries with no repayment, that we are just negating our own debt. Sorry, world. It cuts both ways.
