Health plan limits put in place by Bush Administration
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment
Looks like the Bush administration wants to make sure those with enough money don't take public health care resources intended for poor citizens for themselves. The White House has said that it has adopted new governmental standards intended to make it much harder for middle-income families to have their kids covered by health insurance via the government's "Children's Health Insurance Program."
The change sets the lowest bar for health insurance coverage at the eligibility level of at least 250 percent above the poverty level for the area where the family lives that requests health insurance.

I recently found out that in my state, the kids insured by the state's program have better coverage in some instances than people with private insurance. For example, if I want to have my child evaluated to see if he has ADHD or Aspergers Syndrome, etc; I have to pay out of pocket to get him tested. But kids on the state's plan are covered. Our insurance is costing us over $400 per month and our taxes pay for these low income kids to be covered, and they get better coverage! That's absurd! I'm not sure what the solution is, but lets stop stealing from the middle income families to give better coverage to the poor. It wouldn't bother me if it was equal coverage.
