Madonna Injects her vitamins
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment
I've written before about how Madonna seems to be a healthy celebrity because she is very active and supposedly eats well. But the pop superstar recently freaked out fellow passengers on a trans-Atlantic flight with her seemingly un-healthy behaviour -- not only did she not eat a single thing on the 7-hour flight, but she injected herself with vitamins in her arms. It's believed that she injected vitamins B6 and B12 to boost her energy.
Nutritionists in Britain have criticized her behaviour, saying, "Vitamin injections are an extreme and dangerous fad which has come from the US - it is not very popular over here yet and hopefully will not take off."
I for one don't understand why she can't just swallow her vitamins like everyone else. I also don't understand why she wouldn't go to the bathroom to give herself an injection -- I'm not an etiquette expert but that seems to be fairly bad form. And seven hours without eating? That's a bit extreme. What do you think?

There is nothing wrong or unhealthy about injections in general. I'm not sure where this idea came from. I take Vitamin B12, doctor prescribed, in its injectible form. The injectible form has better results than it's oral counterpart. Going extended periods without eating? Sure, that's not very healthy. But I'm dissapointed with the ignorance of the writer of this post with regard to injectible B12.

That is WAY extreme! Swallow your vitamins, and if you need an energy boost ,drink coffee like the rest of us!

Forget the injections and not eating!
Did anyone see her HANDS in the photo on the page this article is linked to?!?
HER HANDS ARE SCARY! I've never seen so many veins popping out of someone. The picture looks photoshopped, like they put someone else's hideously large hands with veins popping out everywhere. If those are really her hands she should wear gloves everywhere.
But back to the vitamins. Injecting vitamins seems to be healthy for you

Why would we be surprised with anything Madonna does?? She lives to shock those around her. Now that she is an aging has been she is trying desperately to stay young (relevant). Given her fading record sales and concerts, she is not succeeding.....

I personally don't even like to do vitamins, 1st of all you have to remeber to take them. I follow this philosophy
"Let food Be thy Medicine, and Let Medicine Be Thy Food" hippocrates (father of modern medicine) Its a more plesurable experience to eat than to pop a pill or take an injection! If you are interested in checking out some wonderful wholefoods for good health go to http://www.farminabox.com I am very thankful that I ran into this company at a health expo, I am eating, looking, and feeling, better than I have in a very long time.

Why would anyone inject themselves infront of someone else unless it was an emergency?!! Madonna is just seeking attention cause there is no other reason why someone whose healthy be injecting themselves with anything in public. I would understand it if she was some insulin dependent diabetic BUT NO she is not. She was just injecting vitamins. What a freak!! She is even looking more and more like a freak to. And I am not talking age related stuff either.

It is not unusual for persons to not uptake adequate amounts of ingested vitamins, especially, the B vitamins. If one can't absorb enough B12 orally, for example, doctors generally prescribe injections.
As for airline food, they are generally ghastly. To make them palatable at high cabin altitudes, additional sodium is added to the food. One's ability to taste and smell decreases as the partial pressure of oxygen decreases thus the need for added salt. And, these days, trying to bring one's own food and drink on board a flight is shear hell.

How in the world did she get a hypodermic needle and syringe on a trans-Atlantic flight?

#1 - "Lindora", a weight loss clinic in Southern California, administers a vitamin injection as part of their clinical treatment. I believe it is a B6/B12 combination. #2 - The article doesn't specificy the TIME of her flight...7 hours without eating really isn't extreme if it's a red eye, early morning flight, or a late night flight.

I'm more shocked that she doesn't have her own plane, as rich as she is.

How did she get the needle through the security inspections at the airport?

BFD. So she injects vitamins. It's not like shes shooting up drugs. I resent the comment about injecting yourself in public. I have been a Diabetic for 24 years. I do not want to go in some unsanitery bathroom to do my injection. I don't want to be embaresed about taking insulin. I refuse to let other peoples hangups force me to risk my health. If I took pills would I have to go in some dirty bathroom to take them. I don't think so. If you don't like it, turn your head and look somewhere else. Don't forget to thank god that you have your health and don't have to inject meds.

I agree that this article was written in a hasty form, sort of "jumping the gun" without having all of the facts. Are diabetics considered 'dirty' because they have to give themselves insulin injections? Have heroin junkies who've put themselves in the predicament, and stranglehold of replacing their own synapses with painkilling injections placed a stigma as a whole on syringes? My Grandmother (in good health mind you) is given Vitamin 'Injections' from her doctor's orders. The absorption rate is much more beneficial, and metabolizes better in the system to receive their maximum potential. Has Madonna been a bit "over board" with exercise in general, or body appearance? Umm, maybe to some extent. I wouldn't call her regimen fanatical. But then again do any of us, the writer included, know Madonna well enough to make accurate assumptions of what she does with her own health, and body? There is too much emphasis placed on knowing what "celebrities" do on a daily basis. It's best we all just focus on ourselves, and allow the entertainers to entertain, on stages, in film, celluloid, and cinema. Listen to their music, admire their artwork, enjoy a TV show. But stop placing such an importance on their lives outside of their jobs. Let them be. It's become voyeurism at it's worst.

Well, I think this is all a bull melarchy story! For one, Madonna has her own plane, and many freinds who fly her to the United States on their planes, so going commercially, even first class, is just not like her! Second, B-12 & B-6 is only injected in the Butt! You do not inject these drugs in your arm. So she would've had to go to the Bathroom for that! Plus, she is not the kind to show people things like that either. So, this story is completely Fabricated!!

How in the world did ANYONE with needles get by Homeland Security? Sheesh is that all it takes? A terrorist with a B12 deficiency???? Now Madonna's behavior will be giving them ideas.
BTW, her hands look like those of an 80 yr old woman.
I guess everything else can be fixed but your hands.
Take a vitamin pill lady. Better yet, be a spokesperson for One A Day Women's vitamins-not injections. I wonder if she gives injections to Lourdes and her son?!

7 hours without eating - dangerous - give me a break. You go to bed at 10 PM and get up at 6AM. That's eight hours right there.
