Workout habits: 6 of the worst
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss, Fitness
I don't know about you, but if I'm going to take the time out of my day to go to the gym, I want a workout that's worth my while. But bad habits at the gym are common, say some personal trainers, and these mistakes can prevent you from getting the best workout possible. They include:
- reading while working out, which can distract you and reduce your effort
- believing that working out out in a hot environment (sweating it off) can help you lose weight
- skipping out on resistance training
- exercising on an empty stomach
- being afraid to ask for help when you need it

I'm all for having a buddy to workout with, but spending 45 minutes of your 1 hour workout chatting, probably hogging the machine I need to use, does not result in a good workout. And it's always the same people.
Wouldn't it be better to get in a good 30 minutes, then meet for coffee afterwards.
Just a thought.
