Has Kirstie Alley gained the weight back?
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment
After famously showing off her new body in front of thousands on 'Oprah' ... in her bikini, Kirstie Alley might be falling victim to a problem that many people who lose weight have -- gaining it all back. Pictures of her have surfaced recently, depicting what many believe to be a heavier Kirstie than the one who appeared on 'Oprah.' And not that I'm a celebrity gossip expert or anything, but she seems to be keeping a low profile these days -- I haven't seen her anywhere except for the occasional Jenny Craig commercial with Valerie Bertinelli.
I think Kirstie looks great after her weight-loss, and for her health's sake, I hope she can maintain it. But just because she's taken a few unflattering photos, it doesn't mean that she's fallen off the wagon. Maybe we should give her the benefit of the doubt.

i hope she is going to be ok. I lost 50 pounds a few years back and it is slowly slowly creeping back up on me. I hate it. I think she is a doll for doing this so publicly.

On her last few TV commercials, you can see that she has gained most of it back. Sad....

I guess she enjoys being fat,I for one have never liked Kirsty and so therefore I find it hard to say anything nice about her. I guess she likes to indulge in food and being fat does not bother her.

After losing the 70 pounds she was still big. I also noticed her very thick thighs on Oprah. Fergie did better on weight watchers. JMO

You know, everybody thinks its so easy to lose weight....When your young, it is easy, but as you get older, it is almost impossible...I mean it can and has been done, but for some, it is just harder, doesnt mean they like being fat, or love to eat, it just means its harder to take it off after a certian age...We live our lives looking at young skinny girls and then think it should be that way for everyone..Then you get these people who write into these blogs who say , well I never liked Kirstie anyway, so what, what does that have to do with anything...People get into things they know nothing about just to be heard..Whether you like someone or not should not be a factor into them losing weight...At least they try, and someday these people who write this will see for themselves, and I hope people say the same about them....What a sad world we live in.....

Kirstie claimed to have started her Jenny Craig weightloss program weighing 205 pounds. Then she reports losing 75 pounds. Simple math - 205 minus 75 equals 130 pounds! I dont know about those pics above, but if you saw her reveal her bikini ready body on Oprah you saw her big ol body pantyhose and there was NO WAY she weighed 130 pounds!
I think it's GREAT that she wants to get in shape and lose weight, but i do NOT think it's great to LIE about your weight loss... that's what's happening to her now - she's reaping what she sowed... if you sow untruths, you reap the "benefits" of those lies... if you sow the truth, you fare much better.
Just changing your eating habits alone is not enough to get healthy anyways... it takes DIET and EXERCISE... i wish all these people would just stop lieing and just eat good and workout : ) *SIGH*

The ONLY eating plan that works is weight watchers. They teach you how to eat real food and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is the only thing that will work long term for anyone because you learn how to eat right and you lose a little at a time. Valerie and Kirstie need to do weight watchers. When they do they will find a successful road to healthy eating and living for life. bh

I know Kristie said she was 205 when she first started her diet. Kristie is a very tall person and has a large structure. If seeing is believing I don't think anyone would say she is 130lbs now. I don't think the clothes she wears in the commercials are very flattering either.

The first thing you have to do is admit your true weight and I don't think Kirsty ever has. TV adds pounds and it seems the press tries to get the most unflattering pose possible. She is a beautiful woman no matter what. I think it is funny that no matter what the weight, some one is making a comment.

I know what it is like to try to lose weight, I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I will lose it and eat and play and be merry, and stop doing what I did to lose the weight.
You do not need to pay money to a 'system', a fad or nasty drinks. You need to find out for you, your current weight and height (doctor or check on the net) and find a calorie ratio to start working with - for me I started at 1200 to 1500 calories a day. Portions are very important (that is what makes 'systems' like Jenny Craig and Weight watchers work, only they do this at a cost for you) for those of us who cannot afford this, I started in mid January, I got off my ass and decided to change my life. I am now at 1200 to 1400 calories, I walk 3x a week ( and at work, sometimes go hiking/walking over the weekend) and I work out in the fitness center where I work two nights a week. Right now I have lost 40 pounds, I set goals for myself at certain steps along the way. Right now when I reach 50 I am going to get Lasik eye surgery. The smaller goals were, 10 or 15 I got a manicure, then a manicure and pedicure..at 20 or 25 a full massage, then add more to it as I lost weight. Shopping is fun, and I dress more outgoing.
Anyone can lose weight, but it takes way more than eating certain sandwiches, and following along with some fad.
It is like any other addiction, you have to choose to stop and change your way of thinking.
Everyone has bad days, I have endulged in some of my favorites and jumped back on the wagon..because it took a long time for me to get fat, I know it will take a long time for me to lose it. But no one else can do it for me.
And I have come too far now to fail myself.
As far as stars losing and gaining, I would hate to have people watching so closing as to what I do. They are humans, no better than you or I, everyone deals with life their own way; food, drugs, drink, meditation, anger, walking away... but you put it under a microscope and photo lens and then print it on a cover, you have made it everyone's business.
I have enough going on in my life, I am glad that there are others trying to change the way they are in a postive light, but they do not change my world and the way I live it.
I hate the way that we put these 'people' on pedistals and treat them as if they are different???
that is what is sad.
Bright Blessings to all

The sad thing is that I have spoken with many people who have said Jenny Craig weight comes right back. Weight watchers is the best for learning a healthy eating life style. I think Kirstie weighed alot more than 205 when she started her diet. It is hard to be overweight and especially admit it. I feel sorry for her and Valerie they are being exploited.

I lost 100 lbs 3 years ago. I looked wonderful. I was able to maintain my weight loss. During that year, my body weight shifted to different places and although in the beginning I looked 'gaunt' by the end of the year, my weight remained the same but the weight redistributed itself and people though I had regained weight. I didn't. I believe that's what has happened to Kirstie.
It's true that the older you get, the more difficult it is to lose the weight and if I had my life to live over, I would have been more careful about the choices I made in foods when I was younger. Your metabolism slows down and it's true that when you're younger, you gain a few pounds and you can just diet them right off. Not so easy when you grow older.
Weight Watchers is the only way to do it. Smaller portions and moving around are the key.

Statistically, dieters who keep the weight off for 5 years are freaks of nature. It's a sad fact - that the multi-billion dollar diet industry doesn't want you to know! - but science and medicine haven't yet discovered how to permanently make a fat person thin. Dieting wreaks havoc with the metabolism, often to the point where nothing below "starvation" levels of calories will result in weight loss - and even low-normal intake of calories will result in weight gain. It's time we, as a society, wake up and accept that people NATURALLY come in all shapes and sizes, and that being thin is no more morally superior (and no more of a personal choice) than being tall.

Why doesn't everyone lay off the women.
Its a personal thing to deal with both emotionally an spiritually.
You don't hear ohhhhh look at that star he gained 30 lbs isn't he ugly now!
These women an all women are beautiful people, so let them be , an remember critizing does no good for anyone.

I've had a lifetime of the rollercoaster of lose weight, gain weight, lose, gain. Ugh. Finally had to have serious heart surgery at 230#...at age 60...almost didn't make it. That was two years ago. Now my weight is 172, blood pressure and cholesteral levels below norm. Secret? No. Diet and excersize, every day even if you want to put your feet up and pig out. I just don't do it. How hard is that? And also the will to want to live longer after I almost ended up pushing up daisies. You have to want to do it...particularly, if, like me, you have a family history of obesity. I see ol' Oprah has put some pounds back as well as ol Kristie. It is not just some pr deal, but a change of your thinking and how bad you want to live longer. And you can do it for free.
