How much weight has Valerie really lost?

I thank my lucky stars every day that I'm not famous and don't have to endure embarrassing photos and headlines like this one from US magazine (via the Skinny Website.) The picture of Valerie Bertinelli in an unflattering bikini is splashed with the headline Valerie's Diet Disaster. Apparently, while she looked smoking hot on July 8 after supposedly losing 30 lbs (like she's pictured here), the photo snapped on July 17 shows a much frumpier Valerie, who clearly has not lost 30 lbs. What's the deal?

US Magazine thinks they're on to her secret -- Spanx, those body-shaping spandex things that you wear under your outfits. I think I know another secret to why she looks awful in the bathing suit photo -- it's taken at a really unflattering angle with unflattering light. Remember the Tyra Banks affair? Maybe it's time we stop being so quick to label someone as fat and realize that we are all horribly unphotogenic at times. Don't you think?

It could also be the picture of Valerie Bertinelli in a bathing suit could be an old one! Taken before she lost the weight on Jenny Craig. Remember also that cameras add a few pounds to ANYONE!!!

I cannot believe it, people b#%ch and moan over the celebs being too skinny and a bad influence on our young girls, yet act as though it is a tragedy when you gain wieight. As long as she is heappy and healthy, who give a hoot what the press says, we need to stop feeding them....

Plus, she is bending over. That will cause her to have a pooch belly, too. Give her a break. I think she still looks good.

Well, for me, I had like Valerie until she publically took up for the abusive Alec Baldwin after he had been so very angry and abusive to his daughter; No wonder she doesn't want to talk to him.... For me, I don't give a damn about her and her fat ass if she's going to take up for an abusive ass like Baldwin who is known for his tyraids and bad temper....

I think Valeries a adorable I have loved since One Day At a Time. I have loved her sense of humor. I think she looks great , the press should leave her alone, remember shes not that young anymore and once you are over 40 its very hard to lose the weight. Valerie do not listen to the critics out there.

We have tried every size women and size of the Spandx. How oh how do we get them onto our bodies? We have had no luck at all. Can anyone help us out?? PLEASE!!!! We would love to wear them.

We all go through phases in our life the worst for weight gain is pre menopause and menopause. Weight is harder to loose after 40-45.
But at 55 I found I had mild Type2 Diabetes it might have been a blessing in disguise as I lost 35 lbs. in
9 mos. No weight loss progam. cereal and fruit for lunch and breakfast and smaller dinner portions never after 7PM. I gave up the glass of wine every night & bread at dinner. I indulge once or maybe twice a week & only twice a week for red meat.
Wear clothers that fit give the baggies to charity. go to a good hairstylist, At 61 no one believes my age. Feeling great & Lovin it! You can do it too.

Ever heard of photo editing? You can shrink a photo from left to right and you can also enlarge it. I love Valerie and Kristi - you go girls!

Valarie just ignore the press and keep on pressing on.
It's not always easy but is it ever worth it!
I lost 35# in 9 mos. It takes that long to have a baby and put on 35+ #'s.
Ladies just do it ... But you have to do it for you and you're all worth it.
Get rid of that silly ass spandex, it's a crock and give the baggies, illfitting uglies, to charity.
Cereal 2Xs a day and fruit. You'll be the apple of your own eyeand those you love.
Hollywood and the media, when did they ever make an sense?

Jeez. Valerie is absolutely adorable and looks great. I agree that anyone bending down and from some camera angles might not look her best. I think the press needs to go after REAL news.
