It's in the pose: How to always look great in photos

Have you ever noticed how celebs like Eva Longoria, Paris Hilton and Sarah Jessica Parker always pose exactly the same in every single red carpet photo? Well it's not an accident. The most often photographed stars have figured out which stance looks best for them and they stick with it, knowing that they'll always look great.
While Longoria's over-the-shoulder look may not be appropriate for most real-life photo moments, there is nothing wrong with figuring out what pose works best for you. Here are a few tips on how to always make sure you look great in every picture:
- Don't make your arms look too big by allowing them to squish against your body. Hands on hips or in pockets help your upper arms appear toned.
- Good posture elongates your body, making you look as tall and thin as possible. If you slouch your belly will stick out, shoulders hunch in and boobs droop.
- If you cross your legs you run the risk of making your calves look heavier and your hips wide. The article recommends turning your body slightly and bending a knee for leaner-looking legs.
- Keep your head tilted slightly upward to avoid a double chin. If you've already got one, the piece says that you shouldn't let anyone take your picture from below because this will only accentuate it.
- My personal favorite of the tips is to not appear drunk in office party photos. If you have over-indulged, try to minimize the damage by not having a drink (or worse, an entire bottle) in your hand in every photo.
