Cholesterol drugs linked to slight increases in cancer rates
Are you on statin drugs (hopefully, just one) to lower that "bad" cholesterol? If so, new findings say that you may indeed have a slightly increased risk of cancer.A study of 41,000 patients stated that there was one additional case of cancer per 1,000 patients with lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol. The correlation to statin drugs is a bit dubious here, but anything that lowers bad cholesterol levels could be thrown into the ring here I guess.
Perhaps not that diet, though. I doubt that eating a diet which helps create an environment of low "bad" cholesterol would increase your risk of cancer.
