Food addiction: worse that drug addiction

Posted on Jul 20th 2007 8:37AM by Brian White
I've had a strong feeling for a while that most of the people I observe eating in everyday life are actually addicted to food. We're not talking overeating here, but addicted to particular types of food, and addicted to some of the chemicals inside many foods added for that very purpose.

Now, I won't go on the conspiracy theory bandwagon, but some of the endocrine-disrupting chemicals inside many foods just don't plan belong there. After one has done plenty of research, then questions start coming up. Check out what monosodium glutamate does inside the human body.

How does one overcome this addiction that probably has a membership higher than any illicit drug? Make a choice to change and eat foods without all the components that can get you addicted to food. There's no easy light switch for that kind of change either.
