According to eDiets, there's a new risk to your health called Syndrome X. Well, to be more specific, Syndrome X isn't a new disease. In fact, in varying forms it's been around for a long time, but it wasn't named Syndrome X until 1988. Syndrome X is the name that refers to a variety of problems, including central obesity, impaired glucose metabolism, high triglycerides and high blood pressure, and together these problems can lead to insulin resistance. Apparently, Syndrome X is a potentially serious condition, and you should take steps to reduce your risk.

Like? Lose weight, incorporate exercise into your life and take steps to lower your blood pressure and your cholesterol. Which you should be doing anyway, but it never hurts to have a wake-up call, right?
