Moore defends facts used in 'Sicko' film
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss
If you have not seen Sicko, you'll be in for some torn messages. Like any film that purports to be a "documentary," the usage of certain facts while the dismissal of others tends one to believe that any agenda on anything can be forwarded these days.Such is the case with Sicko, according to critics who say that filmmaker Michael Moore used selective data in his film to prove a point and did not put forth all relevant facts when making points about the state of the American health care system. One things critics and supporters of the film agree on is that there are indeed large problems with the health care system in the U.S. But, how big?
If you end up seeing Sicko, you need to search for your own answers like with anything. I'm quite sure much of what is presented in the film is somewhat to highly accurate. But, not reporting all the facts or opposing viewpoints is just as bad as slanting viewpoints in any particular way, right?

All I need to know is that when promoting the film Moore uses the word "free" health insurance. Since that is a blatant and outright lie, there s no real need to see any more of the film. If you're going to promote with a bold faced lie, why would I trust the rest of it?

It'd be nice if you linked to Moore's response to Gupta's so-called "fact-check", in which Moore rebuts and provides links to all his sources. I, for one, would love to live in a country where I could change jobs without the fear of losing my coverage because of a pre-existing condition. But hey, socialized health care = communism!!

Erika, pay for health insurance yourself, then you won't lost it if you change jobs. I know I know, personal responsibility is an alien concept.

I loved SICKO, and have been worried about the state of our health care system for quite some time. There are MAJOR problems which Moore clearly pointed out. Maybe a complete government takeover isn't quite feasible, but I still believe we need to find SOME way to socialize medicine. Insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are in charge of the system right now...and their main priority is to make more money than their competition....NOT the health of our nation. SEE THE MOVIE...THEN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF.
