Sodium check: Sandwiches vs Potato chips

Diet Blog recently asked this important question: Which has more salt -- Sandwiches or Potato chips? The natural answer would be potato chips, which by nature are covered in salt. But here's something that may shock you -- some sandwiches contain the same amount of salt as seven bags of potato chips! Oh my goodness -- that is a lot of salt.
Where is this salt coming from? Lunch meats usually have a fair amount of sodium, as well as some condiments and spreads that go on sandwiches. Granted, this study was done in the UK and probably involved store-bought sandwiches, but I think it's an eye-opener nonetheless.
Where do you think all that salt is hiding?
