A reminder to go local

I while back, I told you guys about the 100-Mile Diet, a popular plan that involves only eating food produced within 100 miles of where you live. I think it's a great idea but one that, admittedly, I don't live by. But when I saw this post on Fitsugar, it re-inspired me to eat local, for several reasons:
  • It supports local farmers and businessmen instead of huge corporations
  • You're helping cut down on fossil fuels burned by transporting food hundreds of miles
  • You're getting the freshest food possible
I'm glad I've read this because it's given reason for me to head to the farmer's market this weekend instead of the supermarket. What about you?
