If you love something, say a good movie or a special moment in your life, you don't want it to end. You want to slow it down; you want to savour it. So let's say the thing you love is food. Why, then, are you shovelling it into your mouth as quickly as you can? Take some time to enjoy the flavours, to chew your food, to enjoy the company you're with. Not only will you enjoy your meal more, you'll find you don't eat as much when you give your stomach time to realize it's full.
Here's another reason to love the food you eat: If you're trying to lose or maintain your weight, you should only be consuming a certain amount of calories per day. So why would you waste those calories on something you don't like that much? If you're going to eat, eat something you're crazy about. And savour it.
