There are all kinds of great things about summer (it's my favorite season) but one thing many people love is that it's naturally easier to eat healthier. Sure, there are Blizzards calling to you from the Dairy Queen down the street and all those holiday get-togethers with your aunt's famous potato salad, but some temptations will never go away. Dealing with them in summer is great though because fresh fruit and vegetables are at their peak. They're cheaper and they taste better, which means it's easier than ever to satisfy hunger pangs in a healthy way. Here's a list of six of the best summer foods for weight loss and for all-around good health this time of year:- Chilled soups
- Watermelon
- Grilled veggies
- Salads (easy on the dressing)
- Low calorie/no calorie beverages
- Fruit-based desserts

There is ONE fruit which--if eaten at least 2x/day--can make you lose @2/lb-wk. Two pounds a week may not seem like much, expecially to the seriously obese, but when this is coupled with the ability to eat everything else that one would wish to eat, and not move any more than sedentary--then those two pounds a week are the first step on the way to a real life transformation.
I am deliberately not identifying the fruit that has done it for me, because I don't want to be the cause of:
(A) it being removed from the market (by supermarket corporations, (at the behest of the pharmaceutical industry whose biggest business is weight-loss products) OR
(B) creating in some people the same kind of allergic reaction to it, as was caused with peanuts: usually, people who are allergic don't like their particularly deadly food, and overconsumption of any fruit can cause an allergy later on.
Most people, however, (contrary to popular belief) are superdiligent about sticking to weight-loss plans once they start seeing desired results, and most folks would force themselves to eat a fruit even though they didn't like it much, if only the scale would encourage them--whether or not, it was actually harming them.
But this one fruit can be figured out if you put your mind to it and experiment with ALL the summer fruits.

VAL, MY DEAR----I JUST READ YOUR BLOG ON THE ONE FRUIT ONE NEEDS TO EAT TO LOSE WEIGHT. IT IS VERY INTERESTING, BUT HOW CAN YOU BE SURE IT WILL WORK THE SAME FOR EVERYONE??
I WOULD LIKE VERY MUCH TO GIVE IT A TRY, AND SINCERELY WISH YOU WOULD RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION NOT TO TELL WHICH FRUIT IT IS---BUT IT IS, OF COURSE, YOUR CHOICE TO WITHHOLD THE NAME IF YOU SO CHOOSE!!!

val, your attempt at being wise makes you instead come off as a pompous, condescending, arrogant ass. so, you found something that works for you....ooooohhh...how absolutely brilliant.
the rest of you, dont take the bait. dont feed his inflated ego. theres no brilliance, no extraordinary discovery. only a patronizing prick with with a false sense of grandeur and too much time on his hands. now go cry in a corner with your damn fruit. i hope you get the runs.

OK, since Val wont tell for reasons that make no sense I will! The answer is WATERMELON!!! It has enough fiber in it to keep you in the bathroom for a good while if that is the only thing you chose to eat. It also has enough water in it to hydrate anyone. So, Val....what was all the crap you were trying to say? Do you ever make any sense???

don't beg, val's not going to tell you. and she probably does want people to beg.
there is something i believe might work (it works for me at least). just take one whole aloe vera and cut it, put it in the blender. squeeze about 7 or 8 limes and put the juice in the blender too. and take about 1/2 cup of honey. in the blender. so just take like 1/4 cup and drink it 3 times a day (preferably before eating). i lost daily like half a lb, maybe a little less. but it did work. i drink it for my asthma, but i found out about the weight loss thing. cool! oh and i think replacing lemons with pineapple works great too.

Why are you all wasting time replying to Val? Everybody is looking for the "quick fix" or "next best thing". It's all garbage. It's real simple folks ... Follow the advice of the above article, add some lean protein to your meals, low glycemic complex carbs( yams,brown rice, whole wheat pasta etc..) , eat 5 - 6 SMALL meals a day and only veggies and a little protein after 8 pm. And get off your duff and do some kind of exercise! Workout and eat this way during the week and have some fun on the weekends! If you're not perfect during the week, dont beat yourself up for it and just get back on track. Make this a lifestyle and I guarantee you'll get fit and enjoy life a whole lot better.

Amen, Kinonui. If you want to lose weight and feel better, it's about having a whole-life attitude, not just a quick fix. The six foods can be part of the mix, but not only thing you do healthy!

I suggest you all take advantage of all of the fresh fruit and veges this season offers...add some lean protien, activity and you'll fell wonderful.

Dieting to lose weight is one thing. You get to the weight you want then stop dieting and your right back where you were (or probably heavier). Their is NO "quick fix" to lose weight and keep it there except one! It's the old fashion way that nobody wants to seem to do. That's eating right and EXCERSISE!!!!!!!!!
That's right America, WORK OUT!!!!!!!

Sounds to me like it has to be grapefruit. If you have 2-3 glasses aday of grapefruit juice or eat 1/2 grapefruit 2-3 times aday. You will lose the weight !!!
