those models do have flat tummies but they dont look natural. to anyone who reads this and is self conscious about their weight appearance, dont worry about it too much. natural beauty is the key but if you feel you need to lose weight, dont do stupid stuff like throw up food and such. dont need the extra stress and stupid choices for your life. be sure to ask a doctor about it as well.

What about Ab exercises and toning techniques? Models MUST have personal trainers that help them stay fit! I'd like to see their short-cuts and tips on how to tone and strengthen Abs quickly and efficiantly.

I try to work out and eat healthy. Sometimes when I don't I feel like I don't deserve eating. I think what did I do today that makes me deserve eating. I usually eat twice a day though. I'm 5'10 and 155lbs, i think i'm at an alright weight. I used to be 120lbs before I started college. I'm really trying to be more comfortable with myself and like me for me cellulite and all.

Hi again, Martha,
When I say you mention cellulite I felt compelled to mention what a waste of money cellulite creams are! We looked into it and wrote this post that describes has these products don't really work. If you're interested, check it out here:

Im a male model myself. Im 20 yrs old and only been modeling for over a year now. I found that fasting for about a week or 7 days helps when shoots or fashion shows are coming up. Stomach Crunches and light jogging also helps and I have dropped 20 lbs in 7 days with the abs to prove it. Fasting is more counter productive than anything, because most tend to return to their usual eating habits once they are content. However, it works and is fast, effective, and noticeable when it comes to results when preapring for modeling, special occassions, or laying on the beach.... I usually drink plenty of water, and to curve the cravings and hunger pains, I chew on ice chips. For energy and to avoid being sluggish, i usually have an all natural, all fruit smoothie for breakfast and maybe one for lunch. Fasting more than 2 weeks is not reccommended. IT Works, Try IT! Now thats a Top Model Diet Trick you and Tyra Banks can live with! :-)

Fasting? Are you kidding me. Ya thats completely healthy. Ugh who the freak would follow advise like that and fast. Yea the jogging and eating ice chips is good, but fasting can really hurt a person.

When you're 20 you can do stuff like that. Most people do not look like 19 year swimsuit model so do what you're supposed do with healthy eating and excercise and be happy. Keep in mind that models are supposed to look a that way. That's what makes them models. Most guys can find something sexy about a woman in a swimsuit. She does not have to look like she stepped off the cover of Vogue.

Hi All, diet and working out is key - agree on Pilates
it not only tones and lenghtens muscles it also gives you a feeling of peace and relaxation
the thing about models and swimsuites is that they are so young most girls are between l5 and 24
I don't agree with fasting at all - not only for the fact your body needs nutrients at all times but after the fast your body craves what it has been missing
have fun

Both of the above girls are to skinny, they need to eat something. Women of the world MEN love curves- thats when you are the sexiest. Forget that skinny boney look unless you like the meth-head look. I don't.

I'm 21 and have been a swimsuit model for a few years. First I have to say that good genes have made all the difference for me! Yes, I go to the gym 4 or 5 times a week and I try to run about 3 miles a day. When I have a photo shoot coming up I try to eat about half of what I normally eat. I stay away from alcohol & I try to get plenty of sleep! Honestly, I've always tried to eat healthy and exercise regularly, but I do the modeling for a living and it's in my best interest to take care of myself. I know it's a short-lived career so I plan on making the most of it while the opportunities are there! I DON'T advise fasting or starving yourself because it will take it's toll on you eventually! Not to mention, you don't want to be weak & pass out while on the photo shoot!

It really is a shame that people sometimes don't have a clue to begin a proper weight-loss/fitnness regimen. I really believe that most actually do know how to begin one, but don't want to face the inevitable---a required change of familiar and comfortable, but ultimately negative, eating habits of some sort & some type of moderate to vigorous exercise that causes you to sweat and thus elevate your heart rate. This foundation for guaranteed physical improvement & maintenance is 100% foolproof(barring some extenuating physical condition that is pre-existing). Oh yeah, plain old laziness doesn't count either, if that's the supposed excuse for a condition!
As a younger guy during my H.S. years, I was always involved in something athletic in school or recreationally so I'm aware that accounts for quite a bit of my own personal ease with the desire to maintain a high level of fitness, even some 17 years later. If you weren't or aren't such an athletic or recreationally fit type of person, another helpful tip is to use REALISTIC visualization exercises to mentally prepare yourself as to what you would like to look good, or fit, in. If you're ready to go all out, healthfully, then shoot for the stars & get there, but if you have to take baby steps, try to keep it realistic.
For me at that time, I just wanted to look more defined in some nice jeans with no shirt on when I was by myself & looked in the mirror like we all do when no one is there looking over our shoulder. When I felt that I compared favorably or You'll probably find that it's easier to picture yourself clothed to some degree depending on how truly comfortable you are with looking at yourself totally naked(particularly with women I've found). I always knew that good health was going to be the main by-product of staying active anyway, so then I didn't have to feel guilty about what ultimately is really a vanity issue. Let's be completely honest what this topic is basically about now.
By the way, somebody earlier mentioned to the effect that most men prefer a woman to have some meat on their bones and I must agree with that. Yes, there are degrees to what is meant exactly by that and I can't say for all, but I know that it is MUCH more than a Kate Moss type. Personally speaking, without being too crude, I like that combo of fit, but with curves and T&A. Sorry ladies, but sometimes political correctness in this area is hard to come by(no pun intended)! LOL Think somewhere in the range between Jessica Biel & Tyra Banks/Beyonce in general, but with alot of leeway for regular non-celebrity girl "stuff" body-wise. Well, try not to pound on me too hard please. I had good intentions here don't forget!!

Oops---I was trying to say that when I felt that I compared favorably to those type of male physical role models, it just became, and still to this day, is a matter of fine tuning. Just remember not to let your vanity get the best of you when you see that all your hard work has paid off in all the ways that you had hoped for. Remember with extended laziness it can all go away much more quickly than you can imagine. What's the point of doing all the hard work then??

Sigh this person posting the kimkins links is trying to pawn off their affiliate link for a fraudulent and dangerous very low calorie diet scam. I believe thatsfit.com has blogged about this scam recently.
Very low calorie diets should only be done under medical supervision for obese people whom meet specific criteria and only for a short time provided essential nutrients are met. This diet is none of the above hence it's dangerous potential, you have people living off of water or diet drinks alone in their desperation to lose weight fast. Rapid weight loss on it's own carries a lot of risks and needs to be monitored closely.
This diet has made lots of people sick especially with their mental views towards food where these people end up afraid to eat, whats worse is that it has been heavily marketed to teenagers as well. On their forum they had a 14 year old girl struggling to eat only 500 calories per day, she wasn't even over weight!
The founder of the diet (Kimmer) lied about her own weight by basing this diet around her own alleged success at losing the weight and maintaining for 5 years, when she is indeed obese. Her own "after" photos that she used were fake and she also put up a bunch of success stories, which turned out to be almost all fake, with photos stolen from a Russian bride website.
In her paypal account, Kimmer made 1.2 million in one month alone from taking advantage of people desperate to lose weight.
This scam called kimkins has made it to national TV across three different channels and Kimmer has already had to go into court for a deposition for the lawsuit, with snippets aired on TV. You will find a link to the kimkins deposition here amongst links to other articles by others on this controversy:
