Want a tattoo removed? It's not always about regret
Tattoos are a fun way for many people to express themselves and exhibit some individuality, but because they're so permanent people often regret them later in life. Thankfully technology has really improved over the years, and tattoos aren't really all that permanent anymore. But just because they can be removed doesn't mean it's an easy or fast process, so why are people doing it? Of course there's the usual reasons like they stretched out or are of an ex's name, but a surprising number of people are having their old tattoos removed to make room for new ones -- essentially clearing the canvas for a new painting.Seems like a lot of work, pain, and expense to go through over and over and over again, but to each their own!

I just can't see getting a tattoo, just to assert my individuality... just exactly like the millions who do the very same thing! I would think that if anyone wanted to truely distinguish themselves from anyone else, they should seek to do it by outstanding excellence of character.
Tattoos are against my religion anyway. Leviticus 19:28 says, "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD." I don't judge anybody for their tattoos, and I have Christian friends who have them, but I see it as a potential compromise of my Christian witness, so I've never gotten one.
Besides, they're really such a rip-off anyway. You go through this painful process to get a nice colorful one, and in a few years they ALL turn this greenish grayish color. No thank you!
Ya spend money to get the tattoo, then ya spend money get it taken off. That makes as much sense as spending your money on a cigarette habit and then spending money on the patch. PEOPLE... save your money... decide not to do it in the first place!
By the way, Rigel, (different subject) I saw in one of your previous articles that you mentioned Brigitte Gregg. Would I infer correctly from this that you two are related (...or do you just happen to have the same last name)?

As for tattoos being against a religion...I would refer anyone concerned to sacredink.net, a website with much info on the subject of tattoos and the bible. Getting a tat is a personal choice, but not a religous one. It would be a shame if having tattoos kept people out of churches because they thought it was some major sin and they would not be welcomed. Many tattoos are a great witness for faith. And I totally get the concept of removing tats to make space for new ones. I've thought of it myself. :)
Tattooed and firmly in Christs grip,

Mr. Murphy
blahblahblah...christians and their 'witness.' would you be willing to sell your home to feed the homeless? what about take in a widow? or a handfull of orphans? how about leave your family to spread the gospel?
christians. did you know that at the council of nicea it was DECIDED that god was triune?
get some 'religious' history. 90% of so-called christians buy into what they're fed without knowing the truth behind it.
sad, really.
nice article, rigel. i'm tattooed. i have one that i'd like removed, and i found your article very informative.
thanks.
