Get a dancer's body
Categories: Fitness
Dancers are always in top shape. What's their secret? Determination? The moves? Practicing 8 hours a day? All of the above, apparently. Dancing in itself is a work out, and a fun one at that, much more enjoyable than spending hours on the treadmill or lifting weights, if you ask me. Dancing varies between the different types, but in most forms of dancing, flexibility is important. Also? Abs -- they get an awesome workout, no matter what type of dancing you're doing. Dancing balance and overall strength as well.
Want a dancer-perfect body? You could take up dancing ... or, you could try these exercises.

I'm sure dancing is a great workout and no doubt helps them sculpt their bodies.
But I also wonder if dance companies tend to discriminate a bit and won't even considering hiring dancers who aren't already very lean.

Dancing is my primary method of exercise. It's never boring, it's always hard work and it's very sociable.
You don't have to dance for 8 hours a day for it to be good exercise. I do two three-hour training sessions a week, plus a two hour social session and a one to two-hour private practice with my partner. It all fits comfortably around my job and I enjoy every minute.
If you can walk then you can dance and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
