Do puzzles, get smarter

People have been trying to enhance their concentration and memory levels for ages. Brain teasers, contests and activities meant to keep your mind thinking and fresh are great ways to pass the time in addition to the mental benefits they bring.

The older we get, though, the more important it is to ensure those minds are kept as sharp as possible. How about doing jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles and the newer kid on the block, Sudoku?

Recent research into the susceptibility of again adults to distracting stimuli have been published, and "brain games" (if you will) were cited as some of the best ways to improve concentration. No surprise there, really -- just find an activity that suits your personality and get going! Hint: keep a Sudoku book in your car at all times ;-)
