U. of Oklahoma admits to using banned supplements

The ephedra scare from a few years ago in the pro and college sports industries has caused a furor in some sports circles as the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)'s ban of certain supplements still has not caused them to cease being used on the campuses of some universities.

But, at least at the University of Oklahoma, it wasn't by design. Certain supplements (two of them) were detected recently -- far after they were banned by the NCAA -- at the university and their use was detected and shut down as a result.

The two supplements were not named exactly, but my guess is that one of them was ephedra, a Chinese herb that's been blamed on more than a few deaths in college and pro sports recently.
