Eat real food, and your heart will say thank you

Heart-smart food? What is that, you may say? Well, although many foods get labeled "heart smart" these days, the real ones that should be on your short list are what I would consider to be "real foods." This, instead of "fake foods" like most processed food items found in almost every grocery store.

Real foods include eggs (in moderation), whole grains (like whole-wheat bread) and tons of berries (as in strawberries, blueberries and blackberries). I've mentioned all these before, and all are so good for human health, it's amazing I don't see more people eating all these items.

Foods to stay away from
? That list would be never-ending and would frustrate most people, but here's the short list: bacon, carbonated beverages and processed, high-carb foods (anything "white" like bread and rice) that are so rapidly absorbed into the system that sugar spikes can occur.
