Carb-rich diets linked to high blood pressure

Watch those carbs! Although you may have heard that many times in recent years, it's still true (very true), according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

That group has indicated that diets diets rich in monounsaturated fats -- like those found in many high-carb foods -- can lead to high blood pressure. Most of us know by now that high blood pressure is not indicative of overall good health.

The one thing these new findings did not suggest was that a diet should be changed solely to try and control blood pressure. Very true -- there are many other variables that can come into play here. Controlling those carbs is but one piece.
