Victoria Beckham inadvertently endorses vegan book, and sparks fly
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment, Reviews & Products
When Victoria Beckham bought the book Skinny Bitch by Kim Barnouin and Rory Freedman, she probably had no idea she'd start a media frenzy that would pit vegans (aka 'meat haters') against carb-phobics (aka 'morons'). There's no word on whether she actually endorses the book, but having a celebrity buy your book and be seen with it is enough to get people talking. Wait a minute -- Victoria Beckham reads? About food? She obviously isn't eating it anyway.
The book is written by two ex-model types and using vulgar language and abrupt, sometimes offensive rants chastising anyone who enjoys any sort of animal product. Of course, the non-vegans don't like this and have some pretty blunt responses of their own. I haven't read the book so I don't know what to say -- except I stand by my love of cheese.
Have you read it?

I read it over New Year to help me get back on plan. Its honest, funny, and you cant disagree with anything said inside. There's no mean spirit to be found amongst any of the pages. It's a great informative read, written in a very humorous way!

Ive read most of Skinny Bitch and found it to be very helpful for my dieting, although a lot of the book is just way too over the top for me, like, saying you shouldnt drink milk because cows drink milk, and they're fat. However, they do make some good points, and im sure they have driven many to become vegans, me definately NOT one of them. Anyways, I thought it was an entertaining book, but I can see how the book would piss people off. I guess kind of in a way they are showing "tough love"

Posh spice is a joke. One day she will have to have her hand surgically removed from her hip. She gives new meaning to the words "poser"and up her on arse"

I hate how these links are in the news section but it's purely an editorial. and Posh Spice is cool. And being model skinny is unhealthy so please don't consider it, you'll have a cold most of the time and then you'll probably get pneumonia a couple of times

Ski, there is a solution to what you were talking about, either A.) don't have the children on the internet or B.) Put them on the Kid version of AOL.

Ski, your poor grammar is far worse for my child's intellect than the title of this book. I can't wait to read it by the way!

Its true that one can not stop people from using "foul langugage" but that was evil of you to wish harm on her children. I cannot believe that you actually would want lives ruined because a mother does not want her children exposed to foul language.
Yes, parents need to raise their children and inform their children of the "fouls" in the world. Just because you don't agree with the way someone is living doesn't mean you damn them.
Remember KARMA is real..what you wish on others, often, actually come back on you..
Peace

The writer characterizes meat eaters as "morons," then writes the following phrase: ". . .enjoys an sort of animal product." Apparently this writer-genius needs a refresher course on the use of the articles "a" and "an." Were she to eat a steak, she might be shocked at the benefits the protein has on her brain.

We all have issues. It's what we do with them is the question ????

Hmm...didn't everyone kind of get off the subject?!? I have no problem with vegans, but do have a problem being told I'm "bad" for eating meat or whatever. I'm suppose to tolerate them, but they don't tolerate my belief system. Anyway, enjoy the book! Funny, and yes, there are some valid points made for vegans AND others!!!

This book was excellent. If the only thing people got out of it was the mis-use of the a and an...well that is sad. I think that everyone (vegan or not) should read the book just for the knowledge spells out. The diet is pretty over the top if your a protein junkie...but then again...you get to have your protein from other sources just not hunks of rotting corpses...thats all. I have eaten meat my entire life..but I will not be able to eat it till the book fades from my mind...lets just say that its quite disgusting! anyway...if you haven't read it yet..pick it up for a laugh , a cry or hell it might even change your life...and if your a fat pig DEF read the book!

To #8: Discourtesy is subhuman. "I do what I want! Get over it, bitch!" is the attitude of a brainless babboon.
