Daily Fit Tip: Pick 10 healthy habits and stick to them
Categories: Daily Fit Tip, Diet & Weight Loss
I came across this article from Yahoo Health a while back and bookmarked it right away because it's full of useful tips to help you live a healthy life. One point in particular stuck out to me: #6. Create and use 10 Daily Habits. I started to think about what an impact 10 daily habits, even small ones, could make. I'm not suggesting you make habits that are grand and a huge change and hard to follow every day, just 10 simple things that will help you stay happy, healthy and motivated.
Here are mine, in no particular order:-Walk at least 15 minutes each day, even if it's just around the supermarket
-Go to bed at a time that allows for at least 8 hours of sleep a night
-Limit my time on facebook
-Have some sort of fruit or vegetable with every meal and snack
-Limit alcohol consumption to weekends, and on weekends to an amount that won't cause a hangover
-Make the most of summer and spend at least an hour outside every nice day, even if it's just lying in the grass reading a book
-Make healthier choices when eating out (which I do a lot ... hello salad bar!)
-Drink 2L of water every single day
-Hug someone every day
-Do something that scares me every day (such a cliche, I know)
What would your 10 things be?

Martha, those sound totally reasonable!
So often these lists sound pretty unrealistic, but yours are sensible and actually possible.
Being lazy, I may just link to my own rather silly "Ten Health Commandments" rather than repeat them here, since I already did a post on it. Thanks for yours!

My numero uno is to stop drinking diet soda. I love the carbonation, so this is a toughie for me. My complete list is here: http://erinslick.wordpress.com/2007/05/31/ten-healthy-things/
