Many Europeans are smoking ban supporters

Smoking bans are popping up all over the globe these days, from the U.S. to across Europe. Are these bans being brought upon by customer requests or some kind of political motive?

Regardless of the reason, there's no doubt that banning smoking in public places does good for the public health. Even if you are a smoker, do you agree with that statement? If not, why?

The European Commission thinks that there will be a rising ban on public smoking based on 88 percent of citizens backing that sentiment. That's citizen sentiment in a landslide.

I'm pretty anti-smoking, but my problem with smoking bans in public places is that (written poorly) they'll drive people indoors, where it's more likely that they'll expose a family member or child to cigarette smoke. I'm not referring to bans in restaurants and bars (which I tend to agree with), but bans like the one the city of Belmont, CA is considering that will even ban smoking in parks, sidewalks, and even people's backyards.

I'd rather just gradually increase taxes on cigarettes more and more, making it less and less feasible for people to smoke, and put the revenue back into public health programs.

The Tobacco War is an exercise in junk science and political corruption perpetrated by obscenely wealthy international drug companies. They want to replace tobacco--the best antidepressant known to man-- with prescription drugs at ten prices, and set up
a medical dictatorsip that will treat humans as livestock and call it "healthy".

Roughly 25 per cent of a given population are smokers,leaving not more than 75 percent to squawk about it. The 88 percent figure is an obvious fabrication. What else is new?
