Are you an adult picky eater?
My name is Lauren and I am a picky eater. While it's normal for kids to turn up their noses at food, it's much less likely to find adults who still have hang-ups about certain fare. To be honest, I'm much better now than I was when I was younger. I always hated meat, cooked vegetables (raw was ok) and a variety of cuisine from other countries, but while I still don't eat any meat other than fish, I'm now ok with most other foods.
Some people out there never get over their abhorrence of certain things. There are a range of reasons why picky eaters hate the stuff they do. It could be allergy-related, they could have been turned off something if it was the last thing they ate before suffering from an unrelated stomach-bug or it could be something as simple as disliking the taste, texture or look of a certain item. For example, I can't stand the thick white thing (known as a Chalaza apparently) that attaches an egg white to the yolk and I'll meticulously pick it out whenever I make eggs.
So are there any picky eaters out there? If so, are you willing to share the food item(s) that you refuse to touch and why do you dislike it?

I am THE pickiest eater by far! I am 27 years old and I cannot look at or touch a pepper. I can't even eat a vegetable that has been cut with the same knife as a pepper. Therefore, I don't try any pasta with sauces that look like it might be swimming with peppers.
Also, I cannot eat and won't go near mayo, cream cheese or sour cream.
Lastly, I won't touch a cucumber or go near black olives however I LOVE pickles (I could eat them at every meal) and I like green olives! I am a stranger eater.

I hate mushrooms, they're glorified mold if you ask me. Like Pam, I think cucumbers are nasty. Any kind of meat is abbhorent to me. So I guess I'm a picky eater.
Oh and I totally get that nasty egg white stuff:(

I am 21 years old and i exclude whole food groups, aka fruites and veggies, plust most meats other then chicken, some forms of beef and fish. Anything with those above in them I wont either either, so no cheeseburgers or Tachos, or anything like that. I wont try anything new, i have maybe tried 7-8 new foods in the last 10 years and have liked possibly 3-4 of them. I dont like foods mixed up in any way, so ive never had any form of salad or anything like that. Foods should also never be wet, the sight of soups, chilis, anything with a sauce makes me sick to my stomach. I have litterally lived off the same, largely unhealthy foods my whole life.

I may be the pickiest eater. I don't eat any fruits or vegetables. No meat besides chicken (cripsy only, and only if its very thin, like not too much chicken in each bite). The only things I like are: Bread (white only, no crusts), Bagels, Cheese (only american and cheddar), Pasta (plain obviously), and some fast food. Everytime I go out to eat I get the exact same thing- Fried chicken sandwhich with cheese and frnech fries. I never have any options anywhere, hate going to people's houses for dinner, hate going out to eat unless I know there will be chicken tenders.. My life is so restricted by my picky eating!!

I may be the most picky so far. I do not eat any seafood, most 'foriegn foods', nothing with BBQ sauce, no wet foods (soup, sauce, gravy, etc). The drier the food, the better....I LOVE DRY turkey). The only veggies are corn on the cob and lettuce...no loose corn. If I eat meat, it must be thin. I will eat fried chicken, by only legs.
