106-year-old becomes oldest league bowler
Posted on May 17th 2007 2:11PM by Bethany SandersWhen Bill Hargrove's friend asked him what his goal in life was, it may have seemed like an odd question. That's because, at the time, Bill was 105-years-old. If there's something better than asking a centenarian what he wants to be when he grows up, then it's Bill's answer: He wanted to be the oldest league bowler ever. He recently accomplished that goal when he threw his first ball in a Georgia bowling alley (and knocked down nine pins!)
Bill's accomplishment is proof that age and disability (he has vision problems) don't have to stand in your way of living an active life. I applaud his spunky outlook. (Also, what does it say about me as a bowler when a 106-year-old man has a better average than I do? Wait. Don't answer that.)
