This movie might make you sick

I still haven't seen the recent Hollywood blockbuster, Babel, but according to its Japanese distributor, the movie could make viewers feel sick. They bought advertising space in a national newspaper to warn potential customers after people complained that they felt ill while watching the film.

Babel got enormous attention in Japan after Rinko Kikuchi received an Oscar nomination for her role as a deaf mute schoolgirl. But in one scene Kikuchi's character enters a nightclub where strobe lights flash for around a minute, and it made some viewers physically uncomfortable.

The film has played in 40 other countries with no news of similar problems, but nevertheless, the distributors aren't taking any chances -- warning potential viewers on their website and on movie posters that the "highly stimulating effects" has led to complaints of "feeling ill."
